Cycles

Cycles is a play about identity, relationships and self-acceptance. The play highlights how generational trauma can not only cause lasting effects within us, but also can affect how we explore the world and how we form relationships as we grow through life, find our independence and build our own family units.

Cycles explores three pivotal relationships in Barney’s life, that with his older brother Jake, his long-term partner Sarah and himself. We present these relationships in a non-linear fashion across different key moment’s in Barney’s past and present. Examining the cycles that exist within a life, how they can dictate our fate as a repeat of what has come before or how we can break them to stride our own path.
